12 GOOD REASONS
to utilize
S.T.T.U. & Mark Lonsdale
for all of your
Special Operations Training
- Over Two Decades of Experience - While other training groups seem to come and go on an annual basis, STTU and Mark Lonsdale have been developing training materials and running training programs for over 20 years. It is only through this experience and continued hard work that a training group can develop and hone the techniques and training materials essential for a worthwhile and effective training operation.
- The Best Instructors - STTU's training cadre is made up of exceptional instructors from some of the worlds foremost military and law enforcement special operations teams. In selecting an instructor we look not only at his operational experience but also his communications skills and ability lead and motivate students.
- Customized Training Programs - Although STTU has developed a number of time proven and highly effective training packages, each program is developed or modified to suit the training and operational needs of the host agency. It is only by first evaluating a team's skills that unnecessary duplication of training can be avoided and STTU can create a training program that is both intense and effective.
- Mobile Training Teams - Whether nationally or internationally, by utilizing a Mobile Training Team concept, STTU is able to supply the host agency with more training at a lower cost. Sending a 20-man operational team out for training is considerably more costly than bringing in a two, three or four man STTU training team. The added advantage of training on home turf, is that the trainees are now working in a familiar environment and STTU instructors are better situated to modify the program to suit local operational and training needs.
- Unparalleled Training Materials - Only STTU can claim to have EIGHT professional published textbooks on various aspects of special operation training. These books are the product of years of research and the experience drawn from both the STTU instructors and operational teams in the special operations community. In addition to the books, STTU makes extensive use of audio-visual training aids, supplemented with additional lecture hand-outs, to further increase the value and intensity of the training experience.
- Efficient Use of Training Time - One of the most valuable commodities for any group is training time. STTU has spent years creating a series of intensive training packages that can be easily modified to suit the operational needs of any team. These highly efficient programs allow a team to gain more information and practical training time than in any of the notoriously inefficient programs run by other governmental or military training entities.
- Close Quarters Battle & Shooting Skills - STTU literally wrote the book on CQB, first published in 1991 and now in its seventh printing. This book is in use by countless agencies and individuals looking for a no-nonsense approach to CQB and close quarter shooting. In addition, all of STTU's instructors not only possess demonstration quality shooting ability, several have ranked nationally and internationally in competitive combat competition.
- In-house Studies Program - STTU's staff dedicates a significant amount of time to the test and evaluation of new equipment and techniques suited to every aspect of tactical training and operations. Before recommending a piece of equipment or tactic, you can be sure that it has been thoroughly tested by both the staff and test groups of students. We have also been instrumental in the research and development of products for the US arms industry and diving industry.
- Diving Instruction - Along with CQB and sniper training, diving operations are a specialty with STTU. Drawing on an instructional staff with a combined experience of hundreds of years in military, commercial and/or scientific diving, STTU is able to advise on all forms of diver training, surface and sub-surface operations and the related small boat and waterborne operations.
- Equipment & Procurement - Because of STTU's in-house Studies, T&E programs, and a close association with many equipment manufacturers and distributors, we are able to assist an agency with future equipment procurement. If nothing else, we can at least make impartial recommendations of proven reliable equipment and save an agency from making costly procurement errors.
- Post Training Support - Once the first training program is completed, operational teams are able to contact STTU at any time for additional information on operational or training problems and to assist in the evaluation or procurement of tactical equipment. STTU instructors are often available to fly out on a moments notice to run advanced training programs or refresher training for any team in the field.
- Cost Effectiveness - Most importantly, Mark Lonsdale & STTU have the experience and professionalism to make any training operation run smoothly. As you may know, advanced tactical training can be both dangerous and expensive. STTU works hard to minimize the risk of high speed training, there by avoiding unnecessary equipment damaged and operator injury. We also work to give the most effective and realistic training in the shortest possible time, without cutting corners on procedure or safety. It is only through this meticulous planning and attention to detail that STTU can save the host agency both time and money. We sweat the details.
